Volunteers needed for Deaf Awareness Week, 21st May (Worcester)
|Recently in the Worcester News it has been reported that Worcester is set to bid to become the UK’s City of Culture. As Deaf Awareness Week is coming up (19th – 24th May) we have decided to do a street survey during the week to see just how accessible the city centre actually is.
We are looking for deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing volunteers to help out. We will ask you to come to the Deaf Direct Worcester office around lunch time on Wednesday 21st May where you will be given some surveys and a list of shops / banks / cafes etc to visit during the afternoon, to see just how accessible they are for people with a hearing loss.
You will return the surveys to us before going home. We will then collate and present the results to the Bidding Team.
If you are interested in taking part please email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01905 746301.
