Deaf Direct has a dedicated training team offering a wide range of specialist Deaf Awareness and British Sign Language training.
British Sign Language (BSL) is the natural language of the Deaf Community in Britain. It is quite different from spoken English and was recognised as a language in its own right in 2003 having its own grammatical structure and syntax. Over 70,000 Deaf people use it as their preferred language.
We offer accredited courses in:
- Signature British Sign Language Level 1
- Signature British Sign Language Level 2
- Signature British Sign Language NVQ Certificate Level 3
- Deaf Awareness & Communication Tactics
- Lipreading
As well as the above we offer a range of bespoke training sessions, suitable for employers and professionals, which can be anything from 1 hour to 1 day depending on your needs. Training can be provided in-house, at our training centre or at a venue of your choice. These sessions can be attended by up to 20 people, providing great value for money, and a certificate of attendance is always issued.
In addition, we offer 1 to 1 or small group private tuition to suit your needs, either at the Deaf Direct Worcester office, in your own home or via webcam.
