Thanks to Ruth’s dedication
Over the last few years Ruth Waddle has been one of our most committed volunteers working on average 8 hours per week completing archiving work in the Oxford Deaf Centre. Ruth has now completed her work which has been immensely useful to the Oxford Deaf Centre. Thanks to Ruth’s dedication we now have a clear trail of the history of the Oxford Centre, and access to relevant documents. This will help us when planning for the future and for the new centre, and also to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Centre this year.
To thank Ruth for her work a group of Trustees and myself took Ruth for afternoon tea on the 18th February, at the luxurious 5* hotel in Oxford, The Randolph. This was an enjoyable afternoon; my only criticism being the piano playing in the background was slightly too loud making communication difficult, particularly for anyone with a hearing loss.
