Sign Language Courses – Congratulations!
|Deaf Direct has an ongoing commitment to accessible services where we ensure staff have sign language training. This week, Charlotte Jefferies, HR Advisor, and Sophie Holmes, Services Coordinator, received their Level 1 British Sign Language award. We are very pleased for them and send congratulations! The level 1 is taught on a weekday evening from 6.30-8.30. Students are taught for 50 hours over 25 weeks. The classes are as follows:
Worcester – Mondays, Hereford – Tuesdays, Oxford – Wednesdays.
This course is perfect for people with little or no experience of sign language. There are no entry requirements and the course is open to Deaf and hearing applicants. The qualification is designed to enable learners to communicate with Deaf people in British Sign Language (BSL) on a range of topics which involve simple, everyday language use.
“I have enjoyed this course thoroughly. It’s been challenging and fun. If mistakes are made, Michael makes you feel comfortable in correcting them and gives excellent feedback.”
Deaf Direct also runs the Signature Level 2 and 3 in British Sign Language
