New app for GP appointments
By Donna Rubin, Interpreter
There is now an app you can download to your phone or tablet (Apple or Android only) to access your GP surgery.
You can find more information on the website www.patient.co.uk/patient-access and use it to:
Once you are registered you can use the app to:
Not every surgery has started to use the app so do check that first. If your GP surgery isn’t using it, or has a limited service, you could ask at reception to find out more information about whether your surgery will use the app and what for.
If you are a deaf sign language user and book an appointment through the app, remember that you will need to send the surgery a message to ask them to book an interpreter.
This looks like a great innovation to provide easier access to GPs, it will be interesting to hear people’s experiences of using the app and whether it works for them – let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you.
