Hello from our new CEO, Andrew Stevenson
Hello, I am Andrew Stevenson, I am the new CEO of Deaf Direct, based here in Worcester, and providing services and products for the Deaf and Hearing Loss communities of Worcestershire, Oxfordshire and Herefordshire. I am delighted to be here at such an important point in the development of Deaf Direct, we have just celebrated our 90th Anniversary, and I take over the post from Philip Gerrard who has been with Deaf Direct for the past 19 years and who leaves behind a tremendous legacy and an organisation which has a great reputation within the communities we serve, I wish him and his family well in their new roles in Scotland.
There are some great challenges ahead for us as an organisation, in a landscape and market that is changing very quickly, with a dynamism that is perhaps unseen in recent years. The demand for our key services will be an increasing one, the population demographic will ensure this, but how these services are funded and supported will I believe be where the greatest challenges and opportunities present themselves for Deaf Direct.
The talented and committed team here at Deaf Direct are ready for these challenges, my initial time here with them convinces me of this, we have good and established range of core activities and support mechanisms in place, and the new technologies and social media platforms will allow us to present and promote these in a more efficient and extensive manner over the coming months.
This is the start of an exciting journey, there are going to be many new developments and improvements along the way, but at the heart of all our activities in the future will remain the principles and ethos that we have established in the last 90 years, and we will continue to provide world class services and support for the Deaf and Hearing Loss Communities that we serve.
