Farewell to Deaf Direct – Sue Bucknell, Development Manager
|Sadly after 11 years at Deaf Direct the time has come for me to bid farewell and move on to new challenges, not bad after starting on a temporary 6 month contract! |
I will shortly be starting as Community Operations Manager with Aspire Living, so whilst I have the excitement and nerves of starting a new phase in life, there are many fond memories of working for Deaf Direct. The past 11 years have seen so many changes and developments: our staff team has tripled, the services have grown from strength to strength, and both Hereford and Worcester have moved into new premises.
Without sounding like something from the Oscars… I would like to thank the Trustee Board for all their support, Philip for helping to push my boundaries wider and develop my skills, Vicki and Gordon for being there to bounce ideas off, and most importantly the staff team for all the smiles and laughter over the years. I am sure this is not the end of my relationship with Deaf Direct; I’ll find a partnership opportunity along the way!
It has been a pleasure to work here and before you start weeping into your hankies, I’ll leave you with this little quote… “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard” – Winnie the Pooh quote #6
