Conservative MP Minister for Civil Society, Rob Wilson
We are receiving funding awarded through a Local Sustainability Fund grant, funded by the Cabinet Office and delivered by Big Lottery Fund. Conservative MP Minister for Civil Society, Rob Wilson, visited some projects that were awarded money from this grant; Local Sustainability Fund recommended us as an organisation for him to visit.
“Rob made his name as an entrepreneur, successfully building several small businesses and creating employment. Before being first elected as Member of Parliament for Reading East in 2005, Rob also served as a Reading Borough councillor.
Following the coalition Government agreement, Rob was appointed as Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport until moving across with Jeremy Hunt to the Department for Health in September 2012. From October 2013 to July 2014 Rob was PPS to George Osborne, Chancellor of the Exchequer, at the Treasury.
In September 2014 Rob became Minister for Civil Society and continues to serve in the Government in this role.”
This is a high profile visit and we are looking forward to hosting him and showing him all the great things we do at Deaf Direct.
The investment from the Local Sustainability Fund will help shape the future of our services and help build a platform for longer term development.
The grant will also give access to a wider range of skills and support, including the opportunity to establish strong volunteering relationships with local businesses. These cross-sector relationships will help strengthen resilience and promote long term sustainability.
