BSL Level 3 updates
By Anita Lowe, Interpreter and Training Coordinator
During the summer, three students submitted portfolios of evidence for their British Sign Language NVQ 3 qualification. We can announce that their work has now been assessed and they all passed with flying colours; all well above the expected standard of language competence.
Sometimes students may be asked to re-film a clip in order to meet all of the marking criteria; the challenges of finding a suitable BSL user and the time constraints of the course have all added to the stress of completing an NVQ qualification, however, they can relax a little now. They worked so hard and we really are proud of them all.
The NVQ Level 3 qualifications are coming to an end and this is the last group who will be taking this course with Deaf Direct. We are now running Signature’s new Level 3, which is a taught course (and no portfolio!), starting on 20th November on Thursday evenings from 6 – 9pm at our Worcester Centre. Enrolments are welcome.
