Access to Work March
|On Saturday the 26th of September, many Deaf people along with other Access to Work users went to London to march against cuts to their service. Access to Work (AtW) is a government fund that helps deaf and disabled people to work on an equal basis with everyone else. The Access to Work march on Saturday 26th September was wonderful, with 1,000 people marching from Parliament Square to Downing Street via the Department of Work and Pensions, with a clear message: STOP MAKING CHANGES TO ACCESS TO WORK. |
After dropping off a copy of the petition (signed by 20,000 people at that point) at Downing Street, there was a rousing rally at Richmond Terrace, where emphasis was put on working together and paving the way for today’s deaf and disabled children’s futures.
