- Our new building is less than 5 minutes walk - head back down Sansome Street, past St George's Catholic Church on the left and follow the road around into Lowesmoor.
- Keep going straight - our building is the long building on the left side of the road.
- Entrance is from the rear car park. Disabled entrance is only from the road.

Volunteer performers for the London 2012 Paralympic Games

The Artistic Directors are searching for 5,000 volunteer performers to fill roles as dancers, actors and general all-round performers in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Previous performance experience is not required, just enthusiasm and commitment - you will be performing in front of a stadium audience and to millions of people around the world!

Lipreading Courses - Leominster

Having a hearing loss can be frustrating, don't be left out of conversations, let your eyes help your ears!

  • Friendly and informal group sessions

When: Wednesdays, 2pm - 4pm starting 22nd February 2012

Duration: 15 weeks

Cost: free to those with no qualifications; £45 for those on Pension Credits / Benefits; (Full cost £135)*

The sessions in Worcester, Redditch and Kidderminster have lots of deaf people going to see the Interpreter.

We have some money for an interpreter pilot in Malvern. If lots of people come along we may get more money to keep the service going. Please tell any Malvern Deaf people to come!

Training

Upcoming courses for 2012

NVQ Certificate Level 3 (portfolio collection)

The focus of this course is evidence collection and portfolio development. It will run in Worcester for one weekend each month between February and July 2012.

Starting on 25th February 2012 in Worcester. From 10am - 4:30pm, fees £1000.

Pre NVQ Level 6

A new Pre NVQ Level 6 course is starting in February 2012. It is aimed at those who want to brush up their signing skills in order to work with Deaf people in the work place. The course will run on the 1st Saturday per month at Oxford. The course fee is £875. This will be followed by the Level 6 portfolio course running from June. The course fee is £1125

Both courses have a pre-enrolment skills assessment.

Looking to compliment your BSL studies?
Level 1 Certificate in Developing Awareness and Communication with Deaf and Deafblind People

An accredited course designed to give a basic introduction to help build awareness and communication skills with Deaf / Deafblind people (both Units are required to be completed to obtain the full certificate from Signature)

Unit T101- Communication Tactics with Deaf and Deafblind People

Cost: £150 including assessments
